Sorry for the delay in updates Feb. 25th, 2008 @ 12:28 pm
Well, I've been busy!

I am in college now, which is taking up every ounce of my time, along with work. I got into a job related to my college studies. I work for a computer hardware company called EVGA, which is part of nVidia.

starting out in the basement basically, tech support. But so far, love the company and love the people I work with.

I also have a new truck.

Well its mostly new. I picked up a 2005 ford ranger edge. low milage and a great price. still under factory warranty. gas mileage isnt great, but its a relaible and has a great service history and that is what matters. I got hit hard on the interest rate though. 19% interest. It was hard to get bought because I was starting a new job and wanted to go through a premium lender instead of a subprime one. no worries though, after 6 months on the job wells fargo said they would concider a refi on the truck provided I didnt max out the mileage =)

Its been rough, I've been poor. I am going to have to suspend my trip home until further notice because being unemployed klinda drained me, but mroe so, taking time off from a new job is going to be tough. I'm trying to work with my managers, but need my 90 days in first before they will talk about it.

Hopefully you guys run across this and give me a call, its been a while since I heard from you and could use the distraction from homework.

PS yes it is a pain in the ass, college is hard to adjust to

sorry for the delay in updating again Jan. 14th, 2008 @ 04:39 pm
I've been busy, as always, I also just enrolled in a university out here, going for a masters in IT. I want to play catchup with the programming crowd.

I am also starting my own company, automotive broker and consultant. I charge 200$ to locate, negotiate and take delivery on new and used cars from dealerships. I figure I know how they work, theres money to be made there.

I'm also taking a job with Wells Fargo, At Some point.... STILL waiting for them to get back to me, told them about my trip to mich and that created a foul reaction =/ I hope not to much so, I've only got about 1800$ in the bank now, things are getting REALLY tight.

anyway love you all and heres a picture of me thats recent.

long time no update Jan. 1st, 2008 @ 10:07 pm
first off, this is an awesome video, just click on the little play button and watch it, its really cute.

its called Nice weather for Ducks and its by Lemonjelly, a very odd band. but its got a very eclectic flavor to it.

it is a bit out of sync, the sound and the video arent meshed up but because of the type of song, ya cant really tell..

also, I am now smoke free, I did it, I quit cold turkey, got through the week of checmical withdrawl, and now iots just the cravings which are pretty weak.

wow its windy outside.

I'm still stuck with a broken cougar, but looking at a major bank exec position with Calfirst National. I would be a Loan exec for small businesses, and its a pretty major bank out here. they start out at a salaried 35k a year plus benefits which brings it closer to 41k a year. much more stabil than car sales. So I've been looking around to see what could be new in my future and I have decided that I am going to buy a mercedes Smart For-Two... its a nifty little 2 seater, economy car *look it up on the net* it gets about 45 mpg, tops out at about 90mph and its cute and its only 12k new.

aside from that, not much new but will get back to updating again.

love ya all\

happy holidays

well lots has happened! Nov. 22nd, 2007 @ 10:11 am
first off, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, I miss you dearly.

second off, its been a rough month for me, the shop down in oceanside has been all talk and no pay, constant reasoning behind not paying me the full price we agreed upon, IE lunches and oh we didnt work because the boss had a golf outing and yadda yadda yadda, I finally had enough, so I went out in search for something more.

I hooked up with the OCADA which is the local auto dealers association, I got certified and licensed and went out on a few interviews, I landed a job at buena park Nissan (no jokes guys come on =P) they are a high volume nissan store. I did my research before accepting the job, they have a great layoutr, good placement, and they turn over a huge volume of cars each month. they also have great incentives and bonus plans for reps who preform (one guy got a free Nissan Sentra for pushing out 30 cars one month.) they are starting me tomorrow yay!.

my computer completely died on me, so my internet became rather limited, so it made the whole job search thing next to impossible. but I did it =)

Car Blew out a tire on me on the freeway, and I have about 600$ in the bank, no unemployment and wont get paide for a month (end of december) so I am kinda shaking in my boots a bit but aside from that, I am in a great mood!

I've still been eating well, healthy alot of salads though, but I am down to a 33 inch waist, but I can squeeze into a 32 if I dont sit down.

Car is running great, I get 300 miles to a tank in california rush hour traffic which is all the time, I do a bit better on long hauls and low traffic, its a 15 gal tank so do the math =)

to make things super awesome, the buena park nissan dealership is approx. 3 miles from my house so its rather a straight shot =) I scoped out all of the dealerships in the area, I interviewed and rejected alot of them just based on numbers alone. I realize that a job is a job, but no sense hanging myself because chrysler would hire me in a second. Noone wants to work for chrysler right now, because they just dont sell that many cars out here at all. un less its a 300, or a charger or a caliber, it aint sellin.

anyhow, its thanksgiving, I am spending it with my second family out here, I would be in detroit for this holiday but I am just way too poor right now, plus I gotta work tomorrow =)

love you all and take care, call me, ya know ringy dingy on the cellphone, I will try callin you 5today but ya might be busy or away, so anyhow take care love ya all !

well, some bad news Oct. 14th, 2007 @ 01:32 pm
I got laid off from work. aparently the owner had gotten wind of the financial report and flipped out. the copier industry has taken a large hit from the credit crunch, and he laid me and half the office off, cutting some hard working employees rather abruptly. we had no warning.

So, I am kind of scattered about, looking for a job. I have a few good interviews, but no really good clothes that fit. I have some money in the bank, I stashed about a grand away after I bought the car, just in case. I was going for the full 3k that the car loan was for, but this will do. my main worry is rent. unemployment wont kick in for a month, and I should be employeed well before then. so thats a pointless venture as it ammounts to 100$ a week anyhow.

I am a little panicy but not much, I have two interviews already lined up, one with AER and one with OCMarketing. both well extablished companies. I also interviewed at a local honda dealership, it went well.

oy, I'm stressing this could have come at a much worse time but still is never good.

anyway, sorry for not updating, as you can see, things have been a bit chaotic

ok well, I've been working hard, working out and eating right, making sure to hit 100% of each of the suggest vitamins, minerals protines and just really paying attention to what I eat, what I drink and keeping active. hiking, biking and walking are pretty common for me every day. so heres a before and after picture of me.

AFTER

I know, I've talked alot about it, but I worked hard, its hard to do it right, and I was a big guy for a long time..... no I am not cutting my hair.
» a Christmas wishlist

Its been a long time since I've thought about a christmas wishlist. clothing is becomming more and more appreciated with the weightloss but there are always things one dreams of....

www.humanspeakers.com
some of the best speakers ever manufactured, I would truely love to get my paws on 4 of thier pro 007 6 inch speakers and 2 of thier pro 002M tweeters, with a pair of crossovers he makes. sadly the cost would be nearly 400$ but they are hand made, warrantied for life against anything and if you research them a bit, they are made by the same guy who helped engineer the genisis speaker corps current and past line of speakers, which sell for 12k$ per pair for cabnets. amazing stuff and my dream to own my own some day. I know the owner personally.

An amplifier for my car -
I need something for the speakers in my car, a friend of mine gave me a pair of subwoofers that are rated at 1100 watts a piece but to drive them, I need an amplifier that is rated at 550watts RMS not cheap =P

a new cell phone -
ever wonder why I dont carry my cellphone alot? its bulky, its unrelaible, its falling apart, it shuts down randomly, theres not much point to it, its good for emergencies only.

a gas R/C car kit -
yeah, I still love em =)

a new laptop -
mine, I use for work, and its old, I mean ancient, I paid 175$ for it and its making death noises. the cooling fan is dying and the power supply is kinda flakey, the hard drive is registering horrific access times and its hard to find driver updates for it. I'm also running out of room. this would be the most important need rather than want as I use it for work. my only problem is the only laptops I can look at either run Intel Celeron chips which are absolute junk, or they are bundled with windows vista, which sucks twice as hard. Dell is selling nice AMD based laptops cheaply with Windows XP for a fair price, but its a back plate expense for me right now, the one I have still works after all.

a new Ipod -
Ahhh the ipod, giver of life, and 90% of the reason I've made a push to get in shape, could not have done it without it, the music keeps me working, plus my car is wired for direct ipod control, thanks to my new radio. Pioneer deh-p490iB very awesome, extreamly affordable and the whole thing including the ipod cable was 120$ on ebay. not to shabby.

thats my uber extravagant wishlist, stuff I dream about constantly. its not practical, but it looks so fun to tinker with.

what I am HOPING for is that you guys all get on this journal thing and learn how to use it, best...cheapest christmas gift ever.

love y'all

» random nonsensical thoughts
what happens if we measure the lesser outcome of a result?

anything we do is cause and effect, its one of the only scientific theories I hold tight to. but no one effect is singular. as you know we can measure multipul results, and even a few results down the line.

do we go far enough?

in quantum computing, your results are based on a statistical change of probability. cause and effect, but we dont currently measure the resulting change in the environment post effect. I believe significance lies within the details.

if you are a chemist, and your recording results for some new concoction you've thrown together, your looking for a very spacific result, anything surrounding that is ignored. I want to know what happens when you take the lessser results of your experiment and apply them to other situations, or look at them from a diffrent point of view.

chemical state altered creates change no matter how imeasureable...

I believe that change of any kind results in an infinate string of new possibilities, no matter how mundane, they create new results down the line. beyond our scope of measurement.

back to quantum computing...

you are altering the result of an outcome by changing its environment, its outcome still affects the results of other environments and how they react, in quantum computing, do the normal rules apply as they would in an unaltered state. like bending a piece of wire, each time you bend it, it changes the density thus the resistance, thus the original properties of its original state, does this apply to particles?

I ponder, what becomes of these particles once they have been altered from one state to another then back again, are they truely the same, and how does it affect its environment, and to that environment as it relied on the state of said particle, how was it affected, and how is its intreraction with outside environments been altered. remember cause and effect still apply, there is no end result.

other therums,

can you change the outcome of a result by changing how you measure the outcome?

say your selective about what you take for mesurements, using quatum theory, you are changing the probable outcome without changing the results, however you are affecting the environment with your mesurements.

random =)

a thought occured to me, which is totally off topic

we measure our success in the results from our actions, thus why each person percieves situations diffrently. its a simple explanation toa complex question. I believe we should dive a bit deeper, can you effect the outcome by changing your expectations of the results, thereby your measurement of success?

there is an old saying, and I pull from the bible because I believe there is some correlation between quantum phsyics and historical references. I will elaborate someday.

a man with the faith of a mustard seed can move a mountain.

perhapse we arent concidering this deep enough. saying quantum phsyics and quantum realities exist, the higher of the two probabilities is the outcome, is there some way through perception of the results that you can change the outcome, to where one man, truely can move one mountain with his bare hands with nothing more than faith[perception] in the end result?

sorry these are random thoughts that I want to concider later after work. none of it makes any sense because theres more to it, I'm hitting on key points I need to reference to remind myself what I was thinking of.
» history repeating itself
This is a post I made in my other journal, the one I keep for friends. hope you dont mind the poor grammer and rough language. its for a group of about 200 people who read it every day

Everything seems to move in bubbles. you had the tech bubble, the internet bubble (we all have friends that got screwed by that) the housing bubble, and now, the oil bubble.....

yes, oil is up to 83-84$ a barrel, and its prolly going to easily eclipse 90$ a barrel before it pops, but when it does, its gunna drop fast. think of it this way, this is the EXACT same thing that happened in the late 1970's and 80's everyone thought the world was gunna run out of oil because of (x) reason, I dont think it was just one reason.... then what happened? it crashed, hard.... I remember seing gas for 75-85 cents a gallon when I was a cub, not long after the crash. why? everyone was buying so much oil that the market got flooded, there was too much oil to spread around, they couldnt give the stuff away because everyone went to more efficient cars. demand plummeted.

its gunna happen again =)

part of the reason its going up is these peak oil rie ries who keep saying the tap has run dry, and we are not going to have oil by 2015.

I stand behind these guys, cuz right now, because of them, and every other paranoid freak in on this, I dont have to stare at the underside of a huge honkin SUV while I sit in traffic every day.

this is checks and balances people, every time we get a little reckless as consumers, panic sets in, and the system rechecks itself, everyone is forced into the next generation of cheap cars, with excellent fuel economy, we learn to pollute a little less and everyone is happy.

so just stick with it people, dont bitch about gas prices, just feel the cut. =)

history repeats itself.

well, not much going on in my life right now. Still working at Prodata, has it been 14 months already? Finally sorting through all the clothes that were in my boxs from grams place, most of them dont fit anymore. They didnt fit when I lived in michigan because they were too small, now they are way too big. I think I need a new scale, its been hovering at 180-185 for the past 2 months but my pants sizes have dropped from a snug 38 to a nice fitting 36. I have a pair of 34's that I'm hoping to get down to but I think that is about as far as I am going to go.

in other news, its actually chilly here in california! well chilly for me anyway concidering I am now accustomed to the climate out here. I went outside and it was 53 degrees and I had to put on a jacket in the morning.

Yeah, the weatherman has an easy job out here. *laugh*

My cougar is running great when I drive it, got suprised when I pushed the gas hard getting on the freeway. out here they have the metered onramps, which are 2 to 3 lanes wide, I wanted to get ahead of everyone so I pushed hard, and found out that the car actually doesnt get traction when you do that. I left a nice long pair of black marks that I didnt see until I noticed smoke in my rear view mirror, had the stereo turned up a bit ofcourse. I've had some pretty gutsy cars but this one takes the top billing. oh well, I just need to be a little easier on the pedal.

In other thoughts, one of my favorite bands is going to be touring out here in california. Van Halen. I want to get a pair of tickets to go see them, but I am a bit apprehensive, they reformed with david lee roth, which historically has never lasted so I am a bit stuck, either buy the tickets monday from livenation.com at a good price and risk a breakup and having to go through the headache of getting my money back, or pick up the tickets on stubhub.com closer to the concert for an inflated price. I really do want to see them, they are getting older, and arent as capable of hitting those nice high notes  as they used to.

I really am getting a bit homesick, so I am looking forward to setting a day to come out, but trying to budget and plan isnt easy, it was easier to just go, but right now theres more on the line than just me, so kinda have to put some thought into it. I am thinking January or there abouts. Christmas tickets are gunna be deadly in price, not that january is gunna be much better. I also need to set aside money for a rental car, noone has a spare car for me to drive out there and I am planning to take a night to head down to ohio to see some old friends. I am thinking, to get the most out of my visit, I should plan it around the monthly meets they all have, that way, I can see all my friends in one day, run down to ohio for the night, and still have 5 days with family to bum around and have fun.

anyway, time for work, love you all take care and I'll see ya soon!

» well, another year older

It was a fun weekend. I got a wonderful card from dad and jan, got a bunch others from friends, including a few hand drawn from a few animators over at WB and Disney (cannot post them lest they get in trouble for all sorts of copyright infringements)

spent the weekend touring a few museums, and then stargazing with my longtime friend Alphawolf. all in all it was a great weekend.

I also went out and got some new pants. size 36..... and they fit properly, even a bit on the loose side, though its not due to weight loss at this point, just skin tightening up. I have been on hiatus from my workout schedual as my workout partner hurt himself, and then went on vacation for the next month.

Exotic sports cars...

These cars are so complex it boggles the mind. I've been researching all that I could and have come up with just an amazing array of information. like the ferarri will actually lift itself up for speedbumps and driveways, the 430 takes an engineering major to drive, the porsche 911 cost less to own than a geo metro, but twice as much in gas cost as my old towncars did, go figure. Rolls Royce have a sharp decline in resale value but outlast thier owners, they are very custom taylored to the purchaser, so if you are buying it used, its not going to feel the same as say one you order new, because even the seats and controls are hand crafted to the drivers specs. the f-50 requires extensive checks from ferarri, including an interview, and a panel review of your qualifications to own the vehicle, even if you make 2 mill a year and have nothing but expendable income, no bills or debts and can pay cash... they can still tell you "no f-50 for you" how crazy is that?

anyhow, back to work for me. Love you all.

» some pictures

just got out of work,

thats a pic of my car

me at anthrocon, back in july, had the belt pulled a bit tight, was more optimistic at the time about how much weight I had lost.

thats me in november 2006. yeah, I didnt know I was that big.

thats my furry character. a simple cute kangaroo. very 80's.

anyway, I'm eating well, working hard, still feeling the hurt from saying no to ferarri, but it was for the best reasons. I will be changing jobs back into car sales later on this year. There is a big market for it out here and its what I really enjoy doing, its not a career change, its more of a career step up so to speak.

love ya all, email me sometime to let me know if you like this as a way to keep in touch!
» opportunity knocks
WEll, its been an eventuful week already.

Monday we had record heat, in the shade, at my house it was 115F, absolutely scorching out, ofcourse I decided it would be a good day to go for a drive. I ended up in Barstow, Ca... Its out in the desert, where the big thermometer said it was 128 degrees outside. Nobody was outside, the roads were pretty empty, I took a lighter and placed it on the sidewalk, it exploded within after about 10 minutes. I really dont know why I went out there, I guess I was a little bit bored with being pent up and there was nothing to do really.

Tuesday, I woke up early, tried to get ready slowly still ran ahead of schedule, sat around for a few minutes, watching TV didnt feel right so I bolted out the door, figureing I could eat up alot of time in traffic, wrong again, I made it to work about 45 minutes too early, so I picked up a newspaper and started reading the classified ads, 60's mustangs for 1200$ that run and drive and look like they need only a paint job are apparently very common in california. I noticed an ad for a ferrari dealership that was interviewing sales reps, so I sent them an email asking a few questions, giving a brief history of me and my dedication to anything automotive based, I wasnt to serious with the email, I was more curious as to what the life is like as a sales rep for exotic machines

Wensday, got an email back, from the owner of the dealership, based here in irvine, he was impressed with my questions and wanted a phone meeting, so after work, I called him we spoke for a good hour and he made a job proposal to me. 15% of the markup, 100% commish based pay, full time sharing the showroom with only 3 other reps. I was flatered by the offer, but declined citing bad timing and a lack of knowlage of exotics

Thursday, I'm tired, Erin finally arrived yesterday, hes getting settled, I have not had enough coffee yet, and am dragging my feet starting work.... gah another day, another dollar. .... Selling ferarris would be fun, perhapse I should study up on them... 15% of a 30k markup (standard on exotics and personal luxury vehicles) is ALOT of money, one car is more than I make in 2 months and they generally dont haggle when making such a purchase.

well, that is your news for the week =) email me if you get a chance guys,
